“Contemporary craftsmanship has the potential to offer objects that tell a story, that are singular and that carry the imprint of their creator. Particularly, in my designs, the artisan process intervenes like a drop of chaos; like the beauty born of imperfection.” Luis Fernández Codeseda
The TOMÉ jug is the contemporary revision of an iconic object from Spanish culture , designed by Luis Fernández Codeseda for GANDIABLASCO . Interested in traditional pieces, the designer rescues the essence of this ancestral vessel to adapt it to modern contexts. The design was born from the fascination with the precise gesture of drinking from the botijo, an action that reminded him of his grandfather and linked him to his roots in Castile—specifically, Ávila and Toledo—areas with a strong tradition of generational craftsmanship .
This designer jug is made from terracotta , taking advantage of the clay’s natural porosity to cool the water through evaporation. Each piece is handcrafted using traditional Spanish techniques , ensuring that the entirely manual manufacturing process makes every unit unique.
Featuring a double opening, it has a capacity of 700ml and is available in a natural finish (for food use) and powder-coated (for decorative use) in white and anthracite colours.
This design accessory is perfect for providing an artisan and authentic touch in residential projects such as kitchens, dining rooms, or covered terraces. It is also ideal for complementing outdoor living spaces, including contract projects , restaurants, or installations looking to offer an experience that combines tradition and contemporary design.
The TOMÉ jug is an exclusive design by Luis Fernández Codeseda for GANDIABLASCO .
