The Company

Bensen is a design and manufacturing group founded in 1981 by Niels Bendtsen. Along with his staff, Bendtsen designs and oversees production of an extensive line of furnishings.

Their philosophy is to balance simplicity and honesty so that the designs may continue to grow in today's ever changing world.

Bensen Italia was then founded in 2010 along with Paolo Chiarot in Pordenone, with the focus on the development and production of new and existing products for the European market.

Led by Niels Bendtsen's timeless designs, Bensen products offer solutions for all living areas: bedroom, living room, and dining. The aesthetic is refined and minimalistic - taking queues from Scandinavian design with the know-how and elegance of Italian manufacturing practices.

The Edward Sofà

The Edward sofa combines the use of several down-filled back cushions with a single seat cushion giving it an informal and relaxed appearance. Edward is available in three sizes, and can be specified in either fabric or leather, or in fabric with a leather seat.

The My Turn

The Lo Turn

My Turn Bensen Armchair: swivel lounge armchair with a metal base that rotates smoothly through 360°. This inviting armchair is a contemporary take on the traditional wingback - relaxing, and discreet.

Lo Turn Bensen Armchair: low back swivel armchair that swivels smoothly through 360°. Its inviting open armrests are combined with soft down seat, and a trim appearance.

The Torii Chair & Stool

Torii is a simple yet subtly sophisticated wood chair and stool, defined by its closely spaced back legs, broad seat, and small arched backrest. Its minimal appearance and simple construction hide a surprising amount of comfort and sturdiness, making it suitable for residential and commercial use. Torii is available in White Oak, Black stained Ash, and Walnut, with leather or fabric upholstered seat.

The Ile Poufs

The Ile pouf is available in several different shapes and sizes, and feature a light core construction capped with layers of engineered foam. Covers are attached by Velcro and are removable for easy cleaning or replacement.

About Niels Bendtsen

Born in Denmark, Niels Bendtsen has always been exposed to design and craftsmanship. After emigrating in 1951 to Canada, he began to apprentice under his father, a cabinetmaker who worked under Jacob Kjaer, and continued to build Scandinavian furniture when in Canada. In recent years, Bendtsen has really hit his stride, creating pieces that are not only affordable and high in quality, but also elegant and incredibly versatile, adaptable to many different spaces with their timeless look and visual logic
