The Company

A leading design company, founded in 1949 by Giulio Castelli and now run by Claudio Luti, Kartell is one of the symbols of Italian design around the world. A success story told through an incredible series of products that have become domestic contemporary design icons.

Colour, irony, transparency, unique shapes and a play of the senses all come together to make unique pieces.

Kartell's product are immediately recognisable around the world for the emotions they generates, their durability and undisputed quality.

The Museum

Established in 1999 on the occasion of the company’s fiftieth anniversary by President Claudio Luti with the aim of conserving, promoting and enhancing the company’s material and intangible cultural heritage.In 2000, the museum won the Guggenheim Business and Culture Award for the best company museum.
Its collections, always in progress, consist of more than 8,000 objects, 5,000 designs and 15,000 photographs

Production

The on-going evolution in the use of plastics and experimentation with new technologies and processes are fundamental for Kartell, which has always strived to innovate its functional performance and the aesthetic qualities of its products. As a result of this on-going research, all-new properties have been introduced to plastic, such as satin-finish, transparency, flexibility, resistance to atmospheric agents, softness and touch, and surprising and special colours.

Seating

Pop Sofa & Armchair

Elegant but comfortable, chic but durable, the POP sofa and armchair clad in five soft shades of white, grey, black, beige and brown linen with a transparent or black frame fits perfectly with any environment.

Masters Chair

The Masters chair is a powerful tribute to three symbolic chairs, re-read and re-interpreted by the creative genius of Starck. The unmistakable silhouettes of the "Series 7" by Arne Jacobsen, the "Tulip Armchair" by Eero Saarinen and the "Eiffel Chair" by Charles Eames are interwoven into a sinuous hybrid giving life to a fusion of original and engaging styles. The Masters is light, practical and stackable and can be used outdoors as well.

Bubble Sofa & Armchair

A veritable icon made by Kartell, the mass-tinted polypropylene Bubble Club sofa and armchair were pioneers of a new concept in furniture accessories: the industrial products made entirely of plastic. Technology and research made it possible for Kartell to mass produce what was traditionally handmade.

Louis Ghost

A comfortable armchair in transparent and coloured polycarbonate in the Louis XV style, it is the quintessence of baroque revisited to dazzle, excite and captivate. Louis Ghost is the most daring example in the world of injected polycarbonate in a single mould. Louis Ghost is stable and durable, shock and weather resistant and can also be stacked six high.

Thalya

A contemporary remake of a classic chair, Thalya combines simplicity and strong graphic design. This transparent polycarbonate chair has sinuous, elegant, soft and almost feminine lines. Made using gas-injection technology, Thalya has rounded edges, hollow legs and a unique "reticular" pattern along the seat and backrest.

Jolly

A completely transparent small side table in the perfect size: 40x40x40 cm. Colourful, practical, safe and functional, Jolly is a versatile and fun side table made of transparent or batch-dyed polycarbonate and it is shock resistant and weatherproof.

Blast

An innovative and timeless coffee table which is produced thanks to the creativity of the designer Philippe Starck. Result of a high-tech production process, Blast represents a tribute to lightness and to formal purity.

Lighting

Bloom New

How do you like the idea of having a floral arrangement above the table? The Bloom New lamp family with its elliptical shape and distinctive original structure covered by sparkling polycarbonate flowers as pure and precious as crystal comes in three different sizes with various functions - hanging, wall or ceiling fixture.

Bourgie

A lamp with an inimitable style, Bourgie is one of Kartell’s best sellers, skilfully combining classic style, richness and tradition with innovation and irony. The baroque style base is composed of three interconnecting decorated layers, while the large lampshade is made with a pleated effect, to create a myriad play of reflections when the lamp is turned on.

Cindy

The typical table lamp of the seventies given new form and colour. The Cindy lamp with a conical lampshade and rounded teardrop base comes in a broad range of all matte metallic tones: platinum, dark gold, mint green, orange, blue, pink, gun metal and violet.

Taj Mini

Hot on the heels of the success of the Taj LED lamp is the mini version on a smaller, more versatile and practical scale. Mini Taj is a more discreet presence on the scene and is perfect on the night table but nevertheless makes a statement.

Bookworm

An artist's creativity combined with a great company’s technology results in to a bookcase design of industrial scale that can rightfully be considered the world’s most daring and revolutionary: Bookworm, the flexible bookshelf.

Small Ghost Buster

A little squared cube on four legs, available in completely transparent, coloured or matte versions made of plastic. Like its "older brother", Small Ghost Buster also plays with reflections and perspectives.

Polvara

Like toy building blocks, this modular bookcase allows you to create shelves with limitless shapes and dimensions. The system is composed of three joints and four panels in plastic with modular dimensions of the same depth.

Optic

This multi-faceted cube is an exciting object with transparent or mirrored parts which create a special atmosphere through the images it reflects. Optic is a container cube in PMMA which comes in two versions: closed with a door or with one open side.

Air Du Temps

Lightweight is the operative word for Eugeni Quitllet’s new L’Air du Temps clock, where time passes lightly on a plastic surface in three variations: transparent, opaque, and metallic.

Lantern

Lantern by Fabio Novembre is an original portable LED, transparent, “chargeable”, injection moulded lamp that charges by placing it onto a charging base. The light is projected by a graphic effect of the design.

Napoleon

Stools and tables which are cute and humorous but with one eye on functionality, thought up to furnish every setting imaginable. The gnome hats, in fact, are flat and circular so that they may be used as a stand or stool.
