Gae Aulenti
Gae Aulenti (1927 -2012, is an Italian designer and architect. She designed for Artemide, Poltronova, Fontana Arte, to name a few furniture brands and in her long career interior she supervised the restoration of brilliant building worldwide such as: the shift of Gare d'Orsay into a Museum (1986); Palazzo Grassi in Venice (1986), the National Museum of Catalan Art in Barcelona (1995); the Papal Stables in Rome (2000)the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco (2003). She taught at the IUAV of Venice and Politecnico di Milano. She was awarded with the Legion of Honor in France (1987) and the Praemium Imperiale of Japan (1991).
