Sergio Giobbi

Sergio Giobbi

He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture in Florence in the 1970s, then continued to collaborate there for ten years as assistant to Professor Leonardo Savioli. At the same time, he worked in design, collaborating with various furniture and furnishing accessory companies. He had also took part in important national competitions and exhibitions. Since then, he has gained experience in different sectors, creating everyday objects, tables, seating systems, beds, bathroom furniture, and lighting.

In design, his research focuses on two essential points: movement, used to make furnishing objects more usable and functional, and the search for new materials, working in molding technology for plastic, aluminum, and wood. His production for Giovannetti began in the 1990s; the architect’s design principles, together with attention to technological and stylistic innovation, made possible a significant and ongoing collaboration.
