''Almost is about dynamics and potential. A state of imminent culmination, when the outcome is almost tangible, yet possibilities are still at hand. A state free of the rigidity and constraints of conclusion. A state of vigor and anticipation. A state when it is all just a matter of time.''
Almost furniture was founded in 2014 by Svetoslav Michev, Hristo Stankushev and Stefan Minkoff, founders of architecture and design studio dontDIY. Later on Yulia Petrova and Plamen Shalafov joined the team as operations manager and marketing manager. Almost is based in Sofia, Bulgaria. The brand’s designs were awarded by the Ghost Project Exhibition at the Mikser festival in Beograd, 2013. Some of the brand’s products are the First table, the First side table, the 2nd shelf, the Third shelf and the 4th armchair.
4th Armchair
The 4th Armchair by Almost is a contemporary take on traditional craftsmanship. Surprising in a subtle way, it embodies the aesthetics of simplicity and sophistication. Its distinctive silhouette inspired by the rhythm of Japanese pagodas translates into a pleasing ergonomic experience. Produced and assembled by some of the experts in the craft, the 4th Armchair leaves a discrete but memorable impression.
It is available in various colors such as: white, black, green, red, light blue and gray, with or without cuschion.
First Table
Inspired by truss structures in engineering, the First Table is a visual conundrum. Bold and exciting to the eye, yet functional and sure-footed in use, it is a statement piece with a distinct identity. Its light silhouette and simple material allow it to blend easily into any interior. The seemingly complex construction is in fact very easy and logical to assemble.
First Side Table
The First Table’s sidekick makes a similar reference to truss structures in engineering. Its simple but curious form and material make for a fresh and universal look. The First Side Table’s playful geometry owes a lot to the optical illusions of M. C. Escher. Either in a group of two or three or individually, the First Side Table is a great signature addition to any living room.
2nd Shelf
The 2nd Shelf is a simple but intriguing mobile piece with a contemporary industrial feel to it. Its playful symmetry is a great functional advantage allowing for two-sided use. Appropriate both for office and living settings, the 2nd Shelf is highly useful for organizing and transforming space.
3rd Shelf
The Third Shelf is a modular interpretation of the classic newspaper stand. The puzzle-like system consists of four L-shaped elements which could be arranged in different configurations. This gives you the freedom to experiment while providing a new home for your favourite books and magazines.
